Lou Dobbs, the longtime CNN anchor whose anti-immigration views have made him a TV lightning rod, plans to announce Wednesday that he is leaving the network, two network employees said.

He's an opinionated jerk who tries to convince people that he is objective. CNN has been hurt by his presence. He needs to move to Fox where his "style" of journalism will be "appreciated."

I guess he got the far-left liberals that control CNN upset.

If youwant to see the news, you have no choice but to watch Fox. Obama has the others in his pocket I don't care for some of the personalities on Fox but you will hear the truth.

With Lou Dobbs gone, CNN has wiped out any remaining assemblance of being anything other than a liberal propoganda machine.
- 76 votes
If CNN wants to retain the reputation of actually reporting the news, this guy was a major obstacle to that. Lou Dobbs was no more a "News Anchor" than Bill Oreille on FOx or Kieth Oberman on MSNBC is an anchor. And in their defense, neither of them claim to be news anchors and neither of them are over the top paranoid nutjobs!. Lou and his form of "news" jumped the shark a LONG time ago. Good riddance!

That's the funniest thing I've heard all day thebigd. FOX and the truth, gawd that's got me rolling on the floor.

Glad he is leaving. I used to listen to him with the financial news - but when he became another one of the biased, talking politicos trying to pass it off as journalism - it dissapointed me. More dissapointed than when Willow Bay took over his spot.

Phuck Lou Dobbs
Good riddance.

It's about time. He's more of a Fox news kind. This is not a compliment.

I am so tired of Dobbs and his line of B.S. I'm glad he's leaving. The only thing I will miss is his megawatt smile (Ha ha). When he was on, I could turn down the lights, knowing that his fake, overlit smile would be enough to brighten all corners of the room.

My bet is the wack job has been talked into running for office. How about PALIN/ DOBBS 2012 that would get the crazies all goose stepping with excitement. CNN has got to be so relieved the wacko has left the building.
Last Big D, wow that has got to be the most uninformed thing I have heard in a while, FAUX News has admitted to taking talking points from the Bush Cheney admin and now they have been called out for trying to derail the Obama campaign with slander and lies.

GOOD RIDDANCE!!!
In fact, great riddance. Lou is another example of a loud mouth rich American whinning about how he gets no respect.
People like him should be airlifted and dropped in a jungle so they can spend their time trying to survive instead of staying home with all the free time trying to think of something to complain about.
This guy is absolutely useless to American journalism.

He talked about illegal aliens, including their protests on telling American citizens. That a illegal has the right to tell American citizens what to do.

The shooting at his house was either a wake up call to him or it was a wake up call to his network that his rhetoric was getting to be on the dangerous side of inflammatory. If it was a wake up call to him, maybe he decided to wind down his career for the good of his family. If it was a wake up call to his network, maybe they decided to wind down his career for the good of the network.

TheStupidVote wrote: "The shooting at his house was either a wake up call to him or it was a wake up call to his network that his rhetoric was getting to be on the dangerous side of inflammatory."
For you to state that a gunshot is a wake-up call is nothing short of frightening and sick! So this is the method the liberals use to force everyone to think as they do? I remember when the unions did this, and we have video of thugs with batons intimidating voters, so I guess it was only a matter of time until this thug mentality started to permeat the rest of the left. Is this the real reason the libs want to take away our guns, they want to make certain no one can shoot back?

Tom, there is just as much fear mongering if not more, happening on the left, too. Free speech means free speech for everyone, Tom, not just for those whose views you want to hear. Were you as quick to want to suppress all those lies, the hate speech and the divisive speech against Bush? It is still rampant. There is ONE station that isn't falling in line with President Obama's talking points, and some radio stations while the rest of tv, talk shows many sitcoms included, the arts communities, the music channels and industry, and most of the movie industry. How would you have responded had Bush and the right decided they should be suppressed?

Plese stop referring these guys as journalists. They are drama queens who simply use their show to broadcast their own content. Howard Stern and Rush have long shown us that their content are intended for entertainment.
So stop whinning! It is simply a program getting moving from station to station. Lou's content and delivery was getting old and stale... very 90's look and feel. Sorry the flag in the back make him look even more scared and more of isolationist.
Hope Lou enjoy his days with FOX. FOX will suck him dry after a couple of years, if Lou continue his program as is. It is not hard hitting enough to the the right. I don't think he has enough audience or can develope new audience to sustain him at FOX in the long run.
CNN needs to further develope people like Anderson Cooper, and other younger broadcasters / announcers with more middle of the road delivery. Less bias in both direction. Good writers and good producer can put together good programs...
CONTENT IS KING.

TheStupidVote,
You stated quite clearly that the gunshot was either a wake-up call to Lou Dobbs or to his network. If that is not what you meant, don't blame me for your error! Maybe you should read your post again, as your speculation had NOTHING to do with the reason for the gunshot! Your speculation was regarding what Dobbs or the network may do.
When you resort to name calling (you called me a nitwit and told me to eat my Cheetos and wear my Mickey Mouse ears) it doesn't reflect well. FYI, "big boys" don't have to resort to such as that.

Good luck, Lou. CNN's loss. Yeah, why do so many people on CNN and ABC go over to fox, hmmmmm???? Don't see any one crossing over to the other channels, especially MSNBC. CNN's ratings have been in the gutter for years. Enlighten yourself, embrace Fox, you might learn something!

Actually, posters collapse the comments. In the lower right corner of a post is an arrow and an exclamation point. Click the ex. point and the pop-up box offers choices.
However, Tyler, a moderator for Newsvine, has a tendency to clip the wings of far more conservative posters than liberal posters. Case in point: Tyler had already suspended a poster calling someone a dumocrat, but those who responded in kind are simply chastised. I am called a "nitwit" and told to eat my Cheetos and wear my Mickey Mouse ears, but that has received no Newsvine comment. I'll probably be chastised for bringing this to light, but you can't argue with facts.

It amazes me that the people who love Lou Dobbs don't understand that he just doesn't tell the truth, and his rants have been getting progressively more bizarre as the years have passed.
That is the problem with Glenn Beck as well.
One of you pointed out that the reporters that leave CNN go to Fox, but not the other way around. And you use ythis as an example of WHAT? That CNN wouldn't hire someone who has worked at Fox because they can't be trusted with the truth.... but FOX will take anyone.
- 8 votes
I dont think free speach should include Limbaugh types who spread fear, hate, and division over the public airwaves.
So if we were invaded by some country, lets say China, we wouldn't be able to identify the invader legally since that would be racist / profiling / politically incorrect. Gotcha.
Dobbs is spot on about the illegal alien problem; limiting free speech to your point of view isn't free speech at all.
- 13 votes
Sooooo, when Lou Dobbs during the June 21, 2006, edition of his show on CNN said the government was conspiring to merge the United States with Mexico and Canada and moving to a single North American currency, he was telling us all a truth we needed to know. Come on!!
I was no fan of GW, but I doubt if he or his flying monkey Chaney were planning on doing that.
I knew at that point that Lou Dobbs was going into nutso land ... and he hasn't changed my mind since.
I think you guys that are defending Dobbs really haven't watched him in the last 3 years.

Meanwhile? Illegals are bankrupting our country and the Naivete Extraordinaire is Socializing our country as well as ruining it foreign policy-wise. Lou Dobbs called it for what it is. Doesn't make sense for him to be in an inferior viewerless news channel like CNN. GOOD MOVE, LOU!
It's interesting that libbies, being the incompetent screamers they are, cannot cite ANY "lies" Lou has told. Isn't it? Think about it ...

When news anchors move from facts to conjecture and conspiracy theories, they move from news to entertainment... like Lou did.
When they only accept and report on what's in line with their views only, they move from fair to biased, like Lou did.
And when you start pretending to know everyone's motives and brand people as evil or as purposely destroying America, you become paranoid and more of a venue for targeted hate, like Lou did.
Perfect for FOXnews, though.
- 7 votes
Oh yeah, that's right. If you tell illegals that they should go home and come back into this country under legal circumstances, then you are not a journalist and need to be shot. What the hell is wrong with you people? We have Muslims that are shooting our soldiers, but we can't say it is terrorism or they need to be kicked out because it is "politically incorrect". Illegal aliens should have been dealt with a long time ago. Our government is outside the Constitution as they took an oath to protect America from invasion, and folks, we have been invaded by the illegal aliens with no one willing to do their job of removing them. If you are illegal in Iran, you are jailed. If you are illegal in Mexico, you are jailed. If you are an illegal in any other country of the world, you are dealth with. If you are illegal in America, you don't get deported, but you do get welfare and free medical treatment and paid in cash so you don't have to send any taxes in to the government. If Lou Dobbs reports the truth, then he is not a journalist? Come on. Gun shootings at his residence should haved made the police investigate to see if an illegal was shooting at him. Sit back on your laurels, the illegals will be given amenisty by the Democrats (for votes), but what the Democrats do not realize is that they have their own political party. If the hispanics want to come here, learn the language and work for their citizenship, I think this is great. But, this is not what they want to do...they want to come here, not learn the language, make us learn their language, and turn America into Mexico. Thus, we will become a dual language country... reminds me of the Harrison Ford movie "Blade Runner" where the language had become a concocsion of jibberish. This will undermine this country...not that they are given citizenship, but that the rules have again been abandoned for political purposes, and all of the immigrants of the past have been screwed. If the government can track down one mad cow to the very barn and mother who gave birth to it, why can't they find 12 million illegal aliens to transport back across the border? I wish Lou Dobbs well and hope that he will continue to bring another view to the American people, one that is NOT politically correct...as we have 13 dead soldiers due to political correctness. We need more real journalists in this country, cause you can count out ABC, NBC and CBS when it comes to journalism. They have traded in that trait for a Obama store selling his T-shirts and trying to convince you and me that he is right about everything...while he is taking our country down the preverbial tube into bankruptcy and our rights along with it.
- 13 votes
" anti-immigration views " Ah, it's 'anti-ILLEGAL immigration.....big difference... guess he didn't fit in at CNN anymore.....and they are last in cable ratings....

Wanda...
I will first say that I oppose ANYONE who breaks any of our laws, and I believe they should be dealt with as our legal system dictates.
That said, it does get a little confusing when an illegal worker is at fault, but the AMERICAN citizen who recruits, hires, and exploits him/her, to avoid paying taxes into our system, which sorely needs every dime; who does this knowing he/she is driving law-abiding competitors out of business; and who hire and support the coyotes who bring illegals over the border to take jobs from our citizens, even in these times when there are Americans who would do this work.
But these AMERICANS are APPLAUDED and SUPPORTED by the American population because they turn out goods which are a few bucks cheaper than those produced using illegal labor. This is the same population that cries "buy American" but floods into Walmart for those "Made in China" labels to save a little over the local retailer down the block, where things really are made in America, by the Americans employed there making them. Of course, these people may not have jobs very long, because they get fair wages, pay taxes, and receive benefits.
The American population does seem a little hypocritical here. They condemn the illegals who are brought here to work, but tjey celebrate those Americans who hire them for the production of cheaper goods.
They say "buy American" but they do not practice what the preach, in search of the savings of a few dollars and at the expense of the local American vendors.
They cry about the jobs situation and the demise of small businesses, but they won't spend a dollar more to save jobs and those same businesses.
I'm sorry, but when I see people choose foreign-made goods, many made in sweatshops by children or other workers who are abused and exploited, and side with the manufacturer, or they choose those made in similar ways in this country, I find it hard to believe people really don't want the illegals here.
According to Border Patrol reports, when all jobs started to dry up, there was, for the first time, a steady stream of workers going south across the border, and taking their families, and their anchor babies, with them. That should have told us that without the jobs, the problem of illegals would be seriously diminished.
But then people would complain about the real, legitimate cost of legally produced goods and services. And they would want those illegals and foreign-made goods back.

Though I agree with his position on immigration, he's become a one-trick pony and not really a reporter at all.
He should really think what he wants his role to be. I could see him being a better leader of interest groups supporting legal immigration. Or, maybe he wants to forge a new field of study on how to alleviate immigration problems for the US and the world. What he's done for the past several years is just harp on the same subject. That has nothing to do with liberalism or conservativism. And it is not journalistic.
I have little respect for most journalists. But certainly the ones I do have respect for have objectivity.

PINCH "The American population does seem a little hypocritical here. They condemn the illegals who are brought here to work, but tjey celebrate those Americans who hire them for the production of cheaper goods."
I have to agree with you on this. At a time like this, we should crack down hard on employers that hire illegal immigrants. That would solve 2 problems;
1 - It would provide more jobs to Americans and legal immigrants.
2 - It would encourage illegal immigrants to return to their homeland.
The trouble is that Washington, which has RESPONSIBILITY for the illegal immigration issue, if too cowardly to impose meaningful reforms. The Republicans like cheap labor, and the Democrats want them to vote.
- 2 votes
Interesting.....I can't even listen to Rush Limbaugh but found that Lou Dobbs addressed issues that most of us should be calling our elected reps on the carpet for. Why are people in the US so ready to defend illegal immigration? Those of us who went through the LEGAL channels to enter the US aren't impressed w/ line-jumpers. Just wait until your property/school taxes start going thru the roof to cover the cost of all these new babies. You think you don't pay for their healthcare - 20% of your hospital bill goes to cover healthcare for illegal immigrants! That's why the bill for my son's delivery was $12,000 instead of $10,000....These people are paid cash and DO NOT pay federal, state or local taxes on their earnings - how for them to come to this country and get a free ride. Wish I had didn't have all those deductions taken from my paycheck....

CNN would never hire Foxers. They are mostly mad. Dobbs should go be with his ilk. He has lost most of his marbles and is a raving maniac as are many on Fox Noise.

I think the real reason that Dobbs is quitting CNN is that he sees the success of Glenn Beck at Fox, and he wants to follow in Beck's footsteps. Look for a book on illegal immigration after he moves.
I personally don't watch Dobbs or Beck, but I understand that Beck is really getting under Obama's thin skin.
What I really find fascinating is the myopia of most of the news media. MSNBC, CNN, and even the "mainstream" networks seem to be fighting for a share of the "Liberal" audience, which constitutes only about 20% of the Country, and they ignore the 40% who are Conservative and the 40% who are moderates (but favor Republicans by a 2-1 margin).
The reason Fox is so successful is they alone cater to a market that represents about 60%-70% of the Country, while all of these other networks fight over the remaining few Liberals.
Look at the ratings, and you will see my point. America has a "center-right" population, and, while the left-leaning media was successful in having a far-left Liberal elected President, until they start reporting instead of being apologists for Obama, they will continue their downward spiral in the ratings game.
- 5 votes
That it is not up the presidents rear orifice can only be said now that the holder of the office has changed. Only the blind were not aware of the fox/bushcheny love fest. I doubt lou will go to fox because fox represents the group that was totally responsible for the illegal immigration problem to begin with, the gop. I can hear fox management trying to tell lou that he may not mention illegal labor on that network because they are in total favor of it.

CNN's downfall will continue. Lou was the only anchor they had with the courage to speak up regarding the invasion of Illegals that's continued unabated for 20 +years. wake up call to his network that his rhetoric was getting to be on the dangerous side of inflammatory

worse than the gutless, spineless (perhaps mindless?) wonders inside the Beltway, are circle jerk judges who prohibit the federal government from implementing it's e-Verify program so employers can check the immigration status. the same judges prohibit employers from sending out non-compliance letters to workers whose social security numbers are flagged as potentially fraudulent or reported for identity theft?
it's true some percentage of employers are operating outside the law. but don't crucify those that would do a better job of flagging illegal immigrants if they were allowed to by federal judges, or who cannot use e-verify because some sotomayer-type judge "base the decision on feelings and life experiences" rather than the law.

Not a Socialist:
You said it before my statement. CNN is drifting away. No one watches it, they have the lowest audience ratings. Wolf Blitzer is getting tired and old. All the new chicks and guys aren't experience enough to truly add to the programming. Most never lived through the History before 1970. They are "wet behind the ears", knowing nothing.
Fox has serious commentators with strength of opinion. They welcome the Left to come on their programs to debate the questionable issue. Only Barney Frank had the guts to appear..
Obama doesn't recognize Fox News. It is to be censored by this President. Obama is a Socialist Dictator. Fox, the only news station he cannot deal with.
He is thoroughly threatened by the anchors on this program. He'd need a teleprompter to answer questions or get the questions first before appearing. Lame, and weak, fearful.

It is unfortunate that CNN didn't get rid of him long ago.
At one time, CNN actually presented news. CNN made its bones during the Gulf War because they had people on the ground when we couldn't be.
Over the years, the standard of "journalism" (reporting) as opposed to "commentary" (opinion, masquerading as reporting) has become almost extinct.
Credit Rupert Murdoch owner of "News Corp." for this. Rupert is incredibly smart and he sells "entertainment", not factual reporting. William Randloph Hearst had nothing on Rupert in terms of "yellow journalism". Fox carefully calibrates its "news" to appeal to the terminally uncurious where "if it is bleeds, it leads".
No doubt Dobbs will be a welcome addition to Murdoch's stable of talking heads, whiners, alarmists, and paranoids who inhabit a parallel universe of "reality".
And Rupert will be laughing all the way to the bank...

I dont think free speach should include Limbaugh types who spread fear, hate, and division over the public airwaves...
Old King George didn't think so either, Tom474e.
Yes, it's clearly MUCH better to have free speech that only falls in line with what YOU believe. This way, without that pesky old opposition to contend with there's absolutely no doubt as to the integrity of the ideas being presented.
In case you weren't aware, Tom, the concept of "Free Speech" was designed and instituted to protect UNpopular speech.
Popular speech,,, by its very definition,,, does not need protection.

Adios Lou Dobbs...spread your hate filled propaganda elsewhere!
I was wondering why Lou continued to stay w/CNN.
He was the best CNN had...but speaking the truth set him free!!!

Goodbye opposing opinions, but then again, I wouldn't expect anything less from the Communist News Network. Good luck Lou, unfortunately the death of "legitimate" journalism occurred in 2008. The media is now an arm of Big Brother gov't which bends so far to the left a rubber band would snap.

Miller,
You are absolutely right the 1st amendment was intended to protect unpopular speech from being suppressed and Rush Limbaugh's vulgar bag of hate and bigotry is protected. The sad part is that so many uneducated Americans buy into his anti-intellectual blather. The people he targets with his bile will keep buying their Chinese made goods at Wal-Mart. They will continue to think that the progressive politicians that are trying to pull this country from it's nose dive are the bogey-men because the bloated drug addicted blowhard continues to tell them the only ones protecting you from these do gooders are the rich. Just because his speach is protected does not mean it is good for the USA.
spg64, hey Mr. Socialist, good try but we've heard enough crap from you lefties about Rush Limbaugh that it would fill Jupiter. But then again, spoken like a true Marxist/Socialist. I just love how you lefties retard the English language with your sweet little words like, "progressive" and "do gooders". Hey moron, we conservatives know a stinkin' Marxist the minute you mental midgets open your pie holes. Stop being so intimidated and afraid of Rush Limbaugh. Your responses in reference to the man are a dead give away (along with the piss stains you leave on the floor everytime the man's name is mentioned, LMAO!).

He is leaving because he got tired of the crap that CNN put on him and didn't want to be another obot. (there are plenty of them) Not that anyone with any sense watched the station anyway. he was the only one at that station with any credibility. Guess he got tired of spreading the OBAMA LIES! That station along with many other leftwing stations that are barely hanging on will fold along with the New York Times ! (unless they get bailed out by the OBAMA THUGS!)
There is an obvious lack of recognition or intelligent discussion of reality by many on this board, who also obviously prefer to name call, criticize, and avoid or be in denial of what's actually going on around us. In an attempt to inject some "recognition" and rational, I offer my commentary about it followed by an article written by Mr. John Cassidy, part of the left-wing stable at the New Yorker Magazine.
FINALLY! After more than two years of bearing witness to blind cheerleading, smokescreens, mirrors, excuses, denial, etc., a liberal Obama supporter who has enough honesty and virtue to recognize and openly admit the "reality" of our situation. I honestly never thought I'd see the day...kudos to Mr. Cassidy!
I suspect that as I am not a liberal (I'm an Independent Moderate) nor do I support Obama or his administration/agenda, Mr. Cassidy and I probably have numerous differences of opinion, however I also suspect that we can agree to disagree when necessary while respecting each others honesty and right to our opinion. Afterall, it is not possible to discuss anything (intelligently or otherwise) if one refuses to recognize the reality of the circumstance and prefers to cheerlead or avoid issues via denial.
I also suspect that given his article/statements (below) that like myself, Mr. Cassidy has been frustrated by the lack of intelligent conversation available due to all the excuses, denial, cheerleading, and as he so diplomatically and eloquently stated; "subterfuge" utilized in order to force feed an agenda that a majority of people wouldn't want. I say "frustrated (like myself)" only to the extent that I sense he would prefer to see this or anything else he chooses to throw his support behind, done with more honesty and dignity, NOT by some sneaky and cowardly, "back door" approach that "forces" people rather than gain their approval which I suspect "sours" any perceived accomplishment. It takes a real special lack of morals to pat yourself on the back for exploiting people. I sense that Mr. Cassidy knows that, as do I.

Confessions of an ObamaCare Backer
A liberal explains the political calculus.
The typical argument for ObamaCare is that it will offer better medical care for everyone and cost less to do it, but occasionally a supporter lets the mask slip and reveals the real political motivation. So let's give credit to John Cassidy, part of the left-wing stable at the New Yorker, who wrote last week on its Web site that "it's important to be clear about what the reform amounts to."
Mr. Cassidy is more honest than the politicians whose dishonesty he supports. "The U.S. government is making a costly and open-ended commitment," he writes. "Let's not pretend that it isn't a big deal, or that it will be self-financing, or that it will work out exactly as planned. It won't. What is really unfolding, I suspect, is the scenario that many conservatives feared. The Obama Administration . . . is creating a new entitlement program, which, once established, will be virtually impossible to rescind."
Why are they doing it? Because, according to Mr. Cassidy, ObamaCare serves the twin goals of "making the United States a more equitable country" and furthering the Democrats' "political calculus." In other words, the purpose is to further redistribute income by putting health care further under government control, and in the process making the middle class more dependent on government. As the party of government, Democrats will benefit over the long run.
This explains why Nancy Pelosi is willing to risk the seats of so many Blue Dog Democrats by forcing such an unpopular bill through Congress on a narrow, partisan vote: You have to break a few eggs to make a permanent welfare state. As Mr. Cassidy concludes, "Putting on my amateur historian's cap, I might even claim that some subterfuge is historically necessary to get reforms enacted."
No wonder many Americans are upset. They know.
Sadly if the Democrats hold on to a one seat majority then Comrade Nancy's reign of terror will continue. Screw all the people on the Rookie's a$$ Pelosi's the one who scares me the most by far. Her smarmy comments when asked if Obamacare will put hard working Americans in jail if they refuse coverage. I could go from decorated combat veteran to jail bird if I "opt out" of Obama-care (depending on the VA's status regarding being considered insurance). These people need to go (Nancy and Harry at the head of the line please) before they cause any more damage. As much as I dislike the rookie administration I dislike the Speaker of the House and Senate Majority leader a lot more. The stupid legislation the rookie rubber stamps has to come from somewhere, that somewhere is Harry and Nancy. Thank God people like Lou Dobbs are willing to stand up and speak out about the bipartisan garbage that's ruining our great nation. Bogus bailouts (the first two of which occurred under "W") and unfair trade agreements that put American workers last as well as contribute to the Illegal invasion have bipartisan support. It's past time to get mad and speak out. Midterms are less than a year away. Nothing less than the removal of both Harry and Nancy can help raise the Titanic!!
No one respects Glenn Beck from the Left, because he is a truth teller in a unique way of explanation. He is great.
Rush Limbaugh is falling behind. Beck a new kind of refreshing Conservative who gets the message out, in a comedic way. Good going Glenn. You are now the Star of all commentators.

Hawaii...
Please just keep in mind that Glenn Beck himself said, during an interview with Barbara Walters, where she asked him why he did not fact check his broadcasts, " I am not a journalist. I am a commentator. I don't have to fact check".
That takes broadcasts such as his, from any political persuasion, from the category of "news" into the classification of editorial. That does not mean it is lies, but is doesn't make it truths either. It is just opinion, and everyone has one.
People tend to watch opinion shows which agree with their own preconceived opinions. They do not watch them to learn anything new, but just to validate their own and make them feel more "right" because someone they think is important agrees with them.
Wow. Just wow.
I cannot believe, in the United States of America, that there are people that actually believe that Rush Limbaugh is (to paraphrase) "too dangerous for people to listen to."
DO YOU HEAR YOURSELF? You've decided, in your INFINITE wisdom, that YOU"RE smart enough to dictate what other people should and shouldn't be allowed to say or listen to. Just because you don't agree, it's "dangerous" and should be taken off the air?
Bull crap. If conservatives have to accept your liberal wankering in every single news venue besides Fox, then you can suck it the hell up and deal with Rush being on the radio and Beck being on Fox.
And since you pay SO little attention to facts, FYI? Rush is NOT on Fox. Doh.
Good job, Lou, you were the only reason I didn't just block CNN entirely as a waste of finger effort to click past. Find something better to do, and pretty much anything would fit the bill. CNN used to be a decent source of news, but they're on Obama's leg. It's just become boring.
Pinch:
Thank you for your respectful explanation.
I am a Conservative, and watch both CNN, Fox News, sometimes, MSNBC to get a more balanced look at what the feelings are of the Network and the other Liberal side. I have learned much from CNN, and the others. That is an independent thinker. I would bet other Conservatives do the same I do, and have come to the conclusion that FOX is more diversified in their balance.
Fox encourages Liberals, and the President of the US, to come on their programs and explain their views. The Liberals have left no balance for their explanations.
What is strange, is that no one, except Barney Frank had the guts to come to Fox. I bet O'Reilly has respect for his courage..
What are they afraid of?. Even Rush Limbaugh, Michael Medved want callers of the opposite views. They are not harsh on them whatsoever. Their opinions, including Fox, is that of respect.
It takes great strength of character, and conviction, to go on to an opposite leaning talk program, and discuss their confirmed views of the Left.
The Left is seen as weak, intolerant, and doesn't want to hear anyone's view other than their own, because of this avoidance behavior. They are fearful, threatened by anything that is beyond their capacity to comprehend. The Left is not tolerant.
President Obama is fearful, feels threatened, which is turn makes for a very weak leadership for this Country. Those are bad traits for our President, who should be the strongest person in character leading America. Our role model and leader is the President. He leads, guiding Americans to Protect, Defend, honor the Constitution exactly as it is written. Pres. O is supposed to make Americans feel secure in their own country.
He is Commander in Chief of all Armed Forces. He the Military in Charge who is the first President who can't make any definite decisions. Now it will be past December, if ever before he decides to send troops to Afghanistan. Do you think the US and the Military have any respect for such a Procrastinator. We all know what the end answer will be. No. Why can't he say that now?

Why is it that when some one comments negatively about these right wing heroes like Rush or Lou the right wing goes insane. They do not actually defend the loudmouths with any facts they simply start calling the commentator names. It really is a bit childish! Above I defended Rush Limbaugh's right to spew his right wing bigotry and hatred, as a constitutional right. This is American after all, yet for supporting the Constitution of this great nation I was called "Mr. Socialist, Marxist, Moron, a stinkin Marxist, Mental Midget" and then accused of "pissing my pants." As I said, this was in response to defending the fat drug addicts constitutional right to spew his hate filled bile. I don't know, but when one is attacked for defending a loud mouthed bigots right to free speech should you really use the term "Marxist". It seems like the ultimate American act, we may not like what they say but we will fight to the death for their right to say it. Further, how would you know enough about my personal hygiene to call me a "stinkin Marxist."

Reread Tom's posts, spg, and dozens of others on this board. Your one post may have been a rational one, but taken in aggregate, the left-wing on this vine has been no less than brutal in their thrashing of Dobbs, and as collateral damage, Rush, Beck, Hannity, etc.
Meanwhile, you really don't see that level of vitriol directed at Olbermann and Maddow by the conservatives, do you? Based on their ratings, it could very well be that's because no one ever, ever watches them. OR, it could be that the "intolerant" conservatives are actually more tolerant that many of the ranting liberals on this thread, that have variously:
-Insinuated that shooting at Dobbs' house was fine, and should be taken as a message to tone it down.
-That Limbaugh should be taken off the air, because he's creating "unrest" and conservatives aren't bright enough to see past his very particular brand of vitriol (which is why I personnaly don't listen to him, but maybe I'm smarter than the average stupid conservative that some of these enlightened liberals look down their nose at...). You do recognize, that is a core principle of a dictatorial, communist, fascist, whatever you want to call it environment, right? The silencing of opposing opinion, using the excuse that it's "dangerous"? And meanwhile these same folks probably defend poor, sad Major Hasan who killed 13 people?
-The Dobbs was finally forced out because of his outspoken position on illegal immigration - not immigragion, ILLEGAL immigration. Fairly big difference, and he wasn't forced out. He quit.
Read the vine again. The vitriolic, nasty, hate-filled posts are coming primarily from liberals - who presumably want speech they don't agree with silenced.

Pragmatic:
Agreed. They are the MOST intolerant. They just have to look in the mirror and see the reflection of themselves and Obama.
The Conservatives are a rational bunch. We don't need to be childish, and cry out when something is not in our favor. We are usually the, most level headed logical, thinking people.
Everyone, you have your right to say what you want, and your right to defend it; vice versa.
This is really a stupid fight between the Liberals. They are very weak, and threatened by the more powerful business, and solving War. We understand both in a logical manner.
The Liberals are usually coming from a different side of the brain---so are the Conservatives.
Ever been in a Political disagreement with a Radical Liberal. I have, we have one particular one in our family just like Obama. He is exhausting calling everyone a Marxist, Communist, saying we are killing people, the ones who work in Defense and Military. Just Rhetoric. There is never a winner trying to convince them. It is a waste of time and energy. They only want to see their side.
This is compassion, understanding, and sensitivity?

I am not sure how you got so many seemingly unrelated topics from my fairly direct response to your specific post. But if you wish to go there, I will answer as best I can.
I have seen people from both sides, besides Barney Frank, represented on various shows with a decided conservative bent, just as I have seen conservatives and other Republican representatives on liberal leaning shows. I do not recall any of them being treated disrespectfully by the commentators involved, although I have seen some heated arguments among the guests from various viewpoints. However, I have also heard Limbaugh become abusive towards callers with which he does not agree, and even hang up on them. But it is his show, and he entitled to behave as he wishes.
Relative to the President's delay in making possibly one of the most crucial decisions in his tenure, and one which could have serious, and even catastrophic consequences for generations if it is not handled correctly, I offer the following thoughts. Having watched what happened in several recent military actions (for several reasons, we no longer classify them as "wars" any more), going back even to our experience in Viet Nam, I am very uncomfortable with military interventions which do not include a clear exit strategy.
I don't think a questionably elected Afghan President, with a brother who is a known drug dealer, and who views our troops as his own personal army, inspires a vision of a clear mission, especially when other countries, using considerably more troops and resources, have failed to make any headway in Afghanistan. I appreciate the fact that, however inconvenient it was for the military, the President wanted to wait to see if a second election would be forthcoming, and if so, if there would be any attempt to avoid the rampant corruption of the first "election". But now that it is apparent that Karzai will not be relinquishing his power anytime soon, it does and should change the character of anything we may wish to consider.
One thing is this "exit strategy" business. I personally have no wish to see us in Afghanistan for the next ten or twenty years, which all scenarios presented so far, and any involving nation-building in that area, will require. We cannot afford it, either in terms of most importantly, lives, but also military resources or just plain money. We have so many needs domestically that it just doesn't make any sense at this time.
Our original aim in that region, almost ten years ago, was to go after the people who had attacked us. Once this was put on the back burner, Al Qaudi has had plenty of time to spread out around the world and redesign their entire operations. They are no longer just in a few caves on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Other than a few of the old members, who really do not call the shots anymore, the rest are spread among some thirty other countries.
There was a time when we had the Taliban under control, but we were distracted by Iraq. Now the Taliban have had time to restructure, and they really are more of a threat to Pakistan and their other neighbors than they are to us.
I do not disagree with the President's instructions that the four plans submitted to him be resubmitted, this time with a clear exit strategy, stating exactly what the end goal will be and precisely how long it will take. As a taxpayer, I want to know both of those things before I am willing to support any more allocations of either our young people or our money to this derailed venture.
I think it is time to bring our troops home from Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, none of which want us there, and all of which need to stop depending on us to stabilize their countries. Their internal and largely civil wars are their prpblem, and we need to address our own needs, both domestically and in terms of defense, since they are not the most important of our enemies anymore. The world has moved on dramatically since 9/11, and we have much different priorities now.
Wow, Talk about living life in a bubble! Liberals are the irrational ones, really? Are we talking about the American right, because I have to say I see very little rational behaviour coming from these folks lately. These are the same people who scream that President Obama is not really an American Citizen. Which by the way is what sent the brass at CNN into Lou Dobb's office, not immigration. These are the people that scream about President Obama being a "secret Muslim", come on rational. These people scream about FOX being the only balanced and unbiased news, when FOX news is actually organizing protest against our Government. Not that they do not have the right to do this , but this makes them far from balanced and unbiased.
Last, I do not know what threads you are reading if you think the liberals are the ugly posters. As I said above, I commented on Rush Limbaugh and was attacked personally and that seems to be the norm from the right on this sight. Besides the bigoted, irrational, uneducated nature of the post from most on the right they are also down right ugly and quite often incredibly childish.

It doesn't matter who was here first or where they came from, that isn't even close to the issue. People who are documented as Americans are Americans. People who are in this country through birth or the legal process of immigration, no matter who they are or where they came from, are American. Just like the same process any American would have to go through to gain citizenship, or even visit another country. People who have finger prints, photo ID's and social security numbers so that they have to be accounted for and answer for crimes they commit are legal Americans. People who employers are required to pay a certain wage, and contribute to society in tax paying, voting, etc. are American.
Race, religion, skin color, etc have nothing to do with being "legal". Just because someone is for controlling our borders doesn't mean they are against immigration, and certainly doesn't mean they are against the Mexican people. I really don't get what is so difficult to understand about the notion.

Why does the world come down on individuals who simply call a spade a spade? If a person comes into this country through unapproved means or overstays their welcome, why are they not illegal? Why are they "undocumented"? I mean heck schmeck! there is a statute stating terms by which a person is admitted into our sovereign territory. Why if that system, fair, unfair, or whatever, is circumv ented does the person not get criminally prosecuted? Anyone see what happens to Hondurans who are no t caught crossing into Mexico? They are treated as criminals. Why not apply that same standard to ILLEGALS crossing our borders? Why should Mexico be allowed to defend thier sovereignty any more or less stringently than us? Why should we not be allowed to be vigilant in enforcemnt of our LAWS, not suggested guidelines, but constitutionally passed LAWS? Don't like it, get the law changed, but don't pick and choose which laws feel good to obey or not.

What's happening is that more and more people are watching Fox - the only freaking news station that adresses that portion of the population btw - and some (not all, but some ) of the more liberal people are becoming very insecure about feeling outnumbered. So, you run it over in your head, and come up with ways to make yourself feel better about the fact that not everyone agrees with you.
If you weren't talking to me, ...........oooopps, sorry!

julian can you define socialism? Now
- 1 vote
julian give me a break! do you have a clue about Obamas background? If you did, his socialist agenda is quite clear (you can start by reading his books). fYI: as someone who has lived in a socialist country, I do not need an uneducated blogger defining socialism by reading the dictionary definition. I've lived and breathed it, no need for a dictinary definition. Obama is the real socialist deal!

I get my news from Jon Stewart, both sides are targets.
- 1 vote
LOL, me too. And he blatantly shows the lies that FOX tells, by showing the proof .... so good for a laugh. He is brilliant.
Remember that one about the kids chanting about Obama being our President and that FOX said it was indoctrination of our kids, OH MY, OH HOW HORRIBLE!
Turns out that the school had the kids chant a whole thing about ALL the Presidents, that it happened 7 months previously in the previous school year, and that all the parents were given the lyrics to the thing and ALL signed approval slips before the kids performed it.
According to FOX though, it was some evil chanting about how the kids worshipped Obama and compared it to Hitler's Germany.
That is one instance by the way, of WHY FOX sucks and doesn't tell the truth. It distorts stuff, much like Hitler's propaganda machine did in Nazi Germany. If anything is Nazi-like, it is FOX.
I worry about these people who believe FOX "newspeople" without question, it is putting this country into more danger than anything else that is going on. And they just don't get it, do they?
- 8 votes
I think it's funny that they keep saying that FOX is no. 1 !!! No it isn't. During the news, CBS has a rating 5 times that of FOX and is actually the number one news program.
Also, Fox has a total viewership of 3 million ... there are 300+ million people in the USA. Very few people actually watch FOX, as opposed to all the other stations out there ... SPIKE gets way higher ratings than FOX, and that is a skater dude appealing network. Hell, Discovery Health gets higher ratings. I love" Impact: Stories of Survival" ...

To all of you people who are calling OBAMA a Socialist, I wish you would stop,NOW. He is a COMMUNIST.
This is for all the left wing wackos who think that I am full of it. Just look at the people he associated with growing up and when he went to College, Than his Preacher, and Look at the Czars he has picked. They and he are a bunch of Communist and that also includes the Democratic Party. They were taken over in the 60's by the Anti-War, Animal Rights freaks, The Women Libbers, ACLU, People for the American Way.Tree Huggers.Anti Gun, Pro Abortion, Pro Gay .
You people call us Wackoooooo's, people who live in Glass Houses should not throw STONES.
- 1 vote
John...
You are making it very obvious that you do not know the meaning of the word communist, but it sounds scary so you throw it around.
And from the nature of your post, do you really support war, hate animals and women, oppose civil rights and the American way, and dislike trees? Do you really believe that all people should love all guns, or that anyone really likes the idea of abortion? Are you also homophobic?
I have just as many conservative friends who have differing opinions on these very diverse issues as I do liberal friends who do not maintain entirely the views you espouse. I think most all of them would disagree with the idea of war and a disregard for animals and women. And most on both sides own guns.
So much for your ill-conceived rant. You need to get out and expand your circle of friends, and include some educated ones who actually think for themselves once in a while.

hooray! won't have to go to cnn anymore, will listen to lou on radio.

CNN has no more credibility. tht's why their ratings tanked with ABC, NBC, CBS, ABC and PMSNBC. Fox has all of them beat hands down. I wonder why?
Maybe becasue they don't have their head's up Obama's orafice?
- 3 votes
cnn, aka clinton news network, had any credibility? lost it during the 90s as a paid shill for slick willy.
and like msnbcnytimewapostcbsabcnbccnbc, it's just another wholly owned subsidiary of the dnc, and a lapdog for this regime.
when i compare what those organizations profer as news compared to what i see and hear from european or asian sources, they're a joke.
from 'the guardian', london's (and europe's) most leftwing newspaper in may 2009, after the T.E.A. Party protests: "with several notable exceptions, the American media has lost any pretense of objectivity, or to be the guardian of the public interest. rather, they have replaced monica under the president's desk in the oval office." the guardian btw, supports the restoration of the old ussr.
doesn't get any more damning than that.

wild...
There are many, and you can check with Jon Stewart for an entire list. But I will give you my favorite.
Glenn Beck took us on a tour of Rockefeller Center recently, and pointed out all the communist and fascist symbols, in the artwork there. For instance, he noted that Carl Paul Jemmenlin's intaglio with the eight-foot ancient gods on either side of the huge doorways were communist symbols, because one was holding a longhammer and the other was holding a sickle. Actually this symbolism of a society incorporating both building and agrarian industries dates back to the Byzantines, and I doubt they had ever heard of communism or fascism. They were also used in many European countries' heraldry, to epitomize the move to both farming and industry during the 19th century.
He showed the Attilio Piccirilli "Youth Leading Industry" as a reference to the "indoctrination" speech the President was giving to school children the following week, even though this piece of art was done in 1936.
He never even mentioned the fact that Rockefeller Center was begun in the early thirties, at the worst times in the Great Depression, and provided employment for over 40,000 people, or that President Reagan declared this Center a historical national monument in 1987.
I guess he meant to make Reagan a Communist and Fascist too.
Another Beck/Limbaugh nut job. Screaming about illegals while using them to groom his daughters' horses What a sleazebag.

Maui-Lassie:
Let's make this clear for all, we are talking about illegal which means not allowed by the law of the land, if you support someone who is breaking the law you are adding and abetting hence you become criminal by association.
Lou and many like minded people have no problem with legal immigration we are talking about "illegals"
Peace.
- 19 votes
Yeah, isn't Lou's wife Mexican?
I find it difficult to imagen that so many people can't understand the difference between legal and illegal. You do realize that not all immigrants are Mexican correct? Or are you people just plugging your ears and screaming LAH LA LA LAH LAH all the time? How can it be so hard to grasp? Why is it so difficult to understand the need for a country to have at least a reasonable control over thier borders?

Sounds like another HYPOCRITICAL propogandist. "FAIR AND BALANCE" of course-NOT! I never watched LOU, so I'm happy to say I want miss him. Also. I'm also happy to report I never watch FOX NOISE . And for those that do, I PITY THE FOOLS!!!

ldj, It's people like you who just amaze me, if you never watch Fox how is it you know their wrong? I guess your one of those physic liberals, or better yet just someone who believes everything they hear from the Liberal news stations. I've watched all the different News channels and as amazing as it may be to you they all have different points of view. You are just supposed to be smart enough to figure out what it is you believe for yourself.
Why is it so hard for people to understand we don't want people breaking the laws in this Country? I was raised to believe you respect your elders and you obey the laws of the land. If someone wants to come to this Country and live they should do it the right way and not just ignore our laws to benefit themselves It's not like most of them even want to be Americans, they just want all the benefits they can get out of this Country. People come from all over the world wanting to be American citizens, they learn our language and don't go around flying a flag from another Country. You want to live here, speak our language and assimilate to our County. No one says you can't be proud of your heritage just don't disrespect our heritage while your doing it. Why most people don't care for the way the illegals have acted is they go around demanding rights and flying their Countries Flags and won't speak our language.

We live in a democracy sadie, and if we can mobilize support, we can change the laws. Laws do not think or feel.

The only reason why I watch Fox news is to watch Glenn Beck embarrass Fox news, did you watch today, oh my gosh he reminds me of a want a be Televangelist.
- 11 votes
Sicken. Glenn doesn't care why you watch him. He is a clown, and entertainer. That is why he does what he does. He entertains and can't help it and really does not care that some people are actually thinking that he is serious. I don't like his entertainment myself, but it makes money and I for one will defend his right to do it. Just like I would defend the folks on MSNBC to do their thing. I find their entertainment just a bit more enlightening and fun. Less doom and gloom and scare tactics.
Lou Dobbs is a nutjob and really started to come apart psychotically in the lst year or so. However, if someone wants to put him on to make money because people want to watch and psychological breakdown in slow motion (like Beck) then so bee it. I think that CNN just decided that was not really news, and Lou was not really a newscaster.

tim it was ok last year when he called out bush when he did not agree with him, but now do not critisize obama for anything, also he did not accuse him of not being a citizen, he merely suggested if obama wanted "others" to stop why not just show them his long birthcertificate to end the question.

But those quacks tell the truth. The rest of the networks just get tingles up their legs. Nice try, though.

he has never stated that obama was not a US born citizen; he said if the president wanted to stop the numerous lawsuits, just produce the hawaiin birth certificate. that does not make him complicit in the 'birther' accusations. it would have also prevented several of those 'birther' suits from getting to the federal appeals court level.

- 16 votes
We wouldn't want someone like Dobb's to stay at CNN - their rating might go UP since it's at the bottom of the list. Fox on the other hand has the highest rating -- Your comment is meaningless Chuck as is most of the garbage that CNN puts out! Why are so anxious to flush freedom of speech?? Not enough government handouts coming your way? When we see Obama's birthcertificate I hope you can keep from throwing up when you realize you've been fleeced! As for the illegals, I live in Texas and would love it if they would leave. They are not citizens, don't pay income taxes, get free medical care that runs up our insurance costs....etc., I'll sweep my own floors before I hire another one!
- 15 votes
Am I getting this right???? What news is watched is based on whose rating are highest? Incredible! There is no NEWS in a 90 second sound clip, no matter who is delivering it, or what is being said.
But then, there are network presidents who know there are those who are too lazy to actually do any in depth reading into any one issue, and so are easy to manipulate, incite, or both. And, it looks like it's getting easier and easier.

Trucker, I hope his moving helps you pay bills.....Haaaaaaaah!
Well if more people did sweep there own floors then maybe they (mexicans) wouldn't cross the boarder. And that vile skinny guy with white hair refering to the the tea party patriots as something sexual. Shame on that joke of a network.

I'm assuming you mean Anderson Cooper, son to Gloria Vanderbilt. He needs to switch to decaf.
Sad day for America. Mr. Dobbs is right on with his views on illegal immigration, as well as how many, but not all, of the Hispanics expect hand outs by this country and that many of our representatives are sellouts (all about the money). It's just a sad day. Thanks Mr. Dobbs for using commonsense; something that just does not seem to be so common among our media and representatives any more.
- 26 votes
I agree. It's a sad day for CNN. What exactly are the lies about illegals that have offended the Hispanic community so much? They're illegals. They don't belong here. We don't want them here. They need to be rounded up and dragged out of our country. What exactly don't they understand?
Hopefully, Mr. Dobbs' radio program will prosper and perhaps he will find a more suitable audience for his views (those of us who have an IQ higher than that of dryer lint) on Fox News.

That is what I remember about Lou Dobbs, though admittedly I haven't watched him regularly for a few months now. The article inaccurately states that he speaks out agains immigration. That isn't the case at all. He speaks out against illegal immigration. I remember when his focus was on companies that outsourced American jobs to other cheaper sources. As I see it, he was holding CEO's responsible for their decisions. I am sure all the illegals are dancing in the streets over this news. Now they can thrive under the very noses of the American people and no one will care. By the way, I have absolutely nothing against people who want to immigrate here legally. I have several friends of many nationalities who have "done it right". Without watchdogs such as Dobbs, American soil and American law just developed another weak link in the chain.

dialysis...
I will first say that I oppose ANYONE who breaks any of our laws, and I believe they should be dealt with as our legal system dictates.
That said, it does get a little confusing when you find an illegal worker at fault, but you support AMERICAN citizens who recruit, hire, and exploit him/her, to avoid paying taxes into our system, which sorely needs every dime; who does this knowing he/she is driving law-abiding competitors out of business; and who hire and support the coyotes who bring illegals over the border to take jobs from our citizens, even in these times when there are Americans who would do this work.
But you APPLAUD and SUPPORT the Americans who cause this problem and you join the American population who turn to goods which are a few bucks cheaper than those produced using illegal labor. You are part of the same population that cries "buy American" but floods into Walmart for those "Made in China" labels to save a little over the local retailer down the block, where things really are made in America, by the Americans employed there making them. Of course, these people may not have jobs very long, because they get fair wages, pay taxes, and receive benefits.
You seem a little hypocritical here. You condemn the illegals who are brought here to work, but celebrate those Americans who hire them for the production of cheaper goods.
You say "buy American" but do not practice what you preach, in search of the savings of a few dollars and at the expense of the local American vendors.
You cry about the jobs situation and the demise of small businesses, but you won't spend a dollar more to save jobs and those same businesses.
I'm sorry, but when I see people choose foreign-made goods, many made in sweatshops by children or other workers who are abused and exploited, and side with the manufacturer, or choose those made in similar ways in this country, I find it hard to believe people really don't want the illegals here.
According to Border Patrol reports, when all jobs started to dry up, there was, for the first time, a steady stream of workers going south across the border, and taking their families, and their anchor babies, with them. That should have told us that without the jobs, the problem of illegals would be seriously diminished.
But then you would complain about the real, legitimate cost of legally produced goods and services. And you would want those illegals and foreign-made goods back.
- 1 vote
hey pinch if you can find anything that says made in America please let me know, i continue to look but can't find.
Even things that say "made in America" dont have to be made in the states. Items produced in U.S. territories are produced under sweatshop conditions because our labor laws dont apply there! (Look up North Mariana Islands on any human rights abuses website.) Companies there can and do subject their employees to harsh working conditions, substandard wages, and human rights abuses (such as forced prostitution and abortions), but because they are under U.S. jurisdiction they are still allowed to put "made in America" labels on their products! Republicans under the Bush W administration wouldnt even allow bills to be discussed or introduced that would challenge these conditons! Decent wages and workers rights impact profit margins and people matter less than money! Go Repubs...family values are a concern for only their families, and Mammon is God! I guarantee you didnt hear this story on Fox
- 2 votes
If you do find something made in America, it is probably too expensive to purchase because of the unions and their outrageous salaries.

Immigrants aren't the problem. Even illegal immigrants have a much smaller negative impact on our economy, than most want to believe. Many pay taxes on paychecks, and never collect returns or get any benefits back when they are seniors.
Way more born and raised Americans are taking handouts from the government(especially American banks, automakers and other corporations), than illegal immigrants are.
Our government should make it more difficult for anyone to steal identities and SSNs. Our SS cards should have photos and laser etchings just like passports do.
We Americans are the problem. We also hold the solution, but lack the will to make necessary changes in our own lives.
Too many of us always want to point our fingers and say "it's THEIR fault!". Right now, immigrants(especially Mexican) and Muslims are the main scapegoats for our problems.
Obama has also become a scapegoat for many of you.
Americans(non-Muslim) kill more Americans EACH year, than terrorists/insurgents have killed Americans, in all the years since(and including) the 9/11 attack. It's a safe bet that killings in the US by illegals, make up less than 5% of all killings in the US(and probably less than 10%-15% in border towns).
Many like to say the Iraq invasion was justified because Saddam was evil. How many other leaders and dictators thruout the world have done worse than Saddam? Why didn't we go overthrow those "evil" persons? The WMD thing was a joke. Iraq might have been able to hit Israel with something, but not much further. Saddam knew that any more attacks against any other countries, would bring the wrath of the UN and US. We had him in check and he was a great deterrent against Iran and insurgent uprisings.
We wasted precious lives and lots of $$ in Iraq, when we should have been using it for projects to protect our own shores/land and repair our own economy.
Lou Dobbs is a blamer and finger pointer. Nothing more. He should be pointing the finger at people like himself. He hasn't offered even 1 real solution to anything he thinks is a "problem".
Didn't mean to go on a rant, but you get my point.
And no, I didn't vote for Obama and I'm independent/lean just right of center.
- 1 vote
Im GDI too, and second you....
Immigrants are not the problem, Illegal aliens are not the problem. Immigrants are the fabric of the US, illegals in the US should be given a chance to right themselves and pay taxes like everyone else. Employers should go to jail for tax evasion for knowingly employing an illegal alien.
The war has drained us in lives and money, this is the true goal of Osama Bin Laden, we fell for it hook line and sinker.
What do we have to show for it? Even if we could win, we still lose.
There is a God!!! Lou Dobbs finally leaves, I hope he retires PERMANENTLY.

Wats,
No one at CNN gave a rats— — — about Lou's rants on immigration it was a debatable topic. It was his embracing of the Birther movement that freaked out the brass at CNN. When a commentator at a News agency that tries to bill itself as centrist goes wheeling off into the nutbag right wing loony forest they get embarrassed. Lou was screaming about President Obama not being an American Citizen when every sane person in the country could look and see there where birth announcements in the Hawaiian newspapers there was a Hawaiian birth certificate available on line. CNN was beyond embarrassed about Lou's trip to the crazy zone here and with good reason.
Good. Now he can go over to Fox Noise where he belongs.

YEAH there is a God afterall.
For those of us who live in the southwest and have been dealing with the illegals for years, Lou Dobbs was right on. We had a guy in Phoenix last year breaking into houses and raping young girls. He had been doing the same thing in California and had previously been deported and came back into this country and raped again. If this was your daughter, I don't think you would be as anxious to forgive this guy and agree to illegals coming into our country. Then we had another who kidnapped a young boy and held for ransom because of a drug deal his grandfather was involved in. Fortunately, the boy was finally let go. These are just a few of many illegals who commit crimes.
Human traffic smuggling is a big business and so is the drug trade. Unless we protect our borders and make sure we know who is coming in, this kind of stuff will not stop happening.
Unfortunately, this is not a popular subject with politicians, but we need someone who can voice the problems that come from illegals and the cost to all of us.

Joyce, Not a Southwesterner, but a Midwesterner, and by all means a voice of defense for this entire country is what Lou Dobbs represented! If we have forgotten how to listen to differing opinions and possibly see new ideas or hear anothers opinion than sift through and think for "OURSELVES" versus the mass brain train than the "HOPE" for fair representation and a "DEMOCRACY" as our forefathers wanted for each of us has been neatly anchored as "DEAD"! Alas our thinking process and input has been thwarted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lou spoke to much of the truth and was not just another paid mouth hacklike Keith Oberman or Orielly, Hannity etc. He spoke about the NWO and the North American Union, which the planet ruling class still hopes you dont find out about or least consider it just conspiracy theory. Hopefully he will now come out on internet radio and tell us more of what he learned. As our republic falls, we will wish we had listened better, instead of falling for the false left right brain washing spued out by the main stream media
